This programme features a selection of pieces taken from the very first printed musical collection, the Harmonice Musices Odhecaton,  published by Ottaviano Petrucci in Venice in 1501.

Semper Dowland, semper dolens

ensemble: recorder consort, singer, lutenist.

This programme pays tribute to John Dowland, one of the most famous and talented English composers of the 17th century, and to the uniqueness of his style, both passionate and melancholic. With a singer and a lute player, we perform his most beautiful and memorable pieces.

 

From chanson to canzon

This programme follows the development from the French chanson to the Italian canzon. It bears witness to the evolution starting with the predominance of vocal music and leading over to the emergence of instrumental music, and thus to the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque period.
